We work in partnership with training organisations, employers and other agencies to provide opportunities for members of the community to up-skill, build confidence and realise their employment and career aspirations.
We currently deliver training and employment programs across a number of industry areas with funding from the State Government’s Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW) initiative.
Our programs support participants to develop industry-relevant skills and competence by completing a nationally recognised vocational qualification with one of the trusted Registered Training Organisations we work with.
Each of our programs provides flexible learner support and targeted assistance for participants to boost their confidence, become job-ready and create up-to-date job search tools (such as resumes and cover letters). We work with participants to develop their job search skills and provide targeted interview coaching and connections to local employers to help them find work.
Eligibility Criteria
SQW aims to assist disadvantaged jobseekers and under-utilised workers who are:
- Ineligible for Australian Government employment services or assistance; or
- Require complementary services because they have significant barriers to learning and employment; or
- Have accessed Australian Government services for more than six months and remain unemployed.
Participants must be:
- Queensland residents;
- Aged 15 years or older;
- Australian citizens, or Australian permanent residents (includes humanitarian entrants), or temporary residents with the necessary visa and work permits on a pathway to permanent residency, or New Zealand citizens.
Our programs may prioritise specific groups of participants, for instance, recent school leavers, mature-aged jobseekers, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, Indigenous jobseekers, etc.
