Belong

We work in partnership with training organisations, employers and other agencies to provide opportunities for members of the community to up-skill, build confidence and realise their employment and career aspirations.

We currently deliver training and employment programs across a number of industry areas with funding from the State Government’s Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW) initiative.

Our programs support participants to develop industry-relevant skills and competence by completing a nationally recognised vocational qualification with one of the trusted Registered Training Organisations we work with.

Each of our programs provides flexible learner support and targeted assistance for participants to boost their confidence, become job-ready and create up-to-date job search tools (such as resumes and cover letters). We work with participants to develop their job search skills and provide targeted interview coaching and connections to local employers to help them find work.

Belong Training - Expression of Interest

Expression of Interest for Belong Traineeships a Community Training programs
  • Belong delivers a number of training and traineeship programs funded under the Queensland Government’s Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative. To be eligible for participation in one of these programs, you must be: • a Queensland resident; • aged 15 years or older and no longer at school; • an Australian citizen, or an Australian permanent resident (including a humanitarian entrant), or a temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on a pathway to permanent residency, or a New Zealand citizen. Skilling Queenslanders for Work programs primarily targets individuals who are: • ineligible for Australian Government employment services or assistance (e.g., from jobactive or Disability Employment Services providers); or • require complementary services because they have significant barriers to learning and employment; or • have accessed Australian Government services (e.g., through Centrelink and/or jobactive or DES providers) for more than six months and remain unemployed. Prior qualifications are neither a barrier nor a requirement, as Skilling Queenslanders for Work provides a second chance to participants to retrain and gain new qualifications.
Belong still has places available in these three programs commencing late Sept/early Oct 2018. Please tick one or more of the boxes below to let us know which programs you are interested in!
